Robert Rauschenberg, Tibet

Robert Rauschenberg PosterRobert Rauschenberg Poster This limited edition print and poster by Robert Rauschenberg has a complex and rich history. This was a direct result of Rauschenberg's unique 1985 globe-girdling tour, the celebrated Rauschenberg Overseas Cultural Interchange, which ultimately took the artist to eleven countries plus Tibet, a kaleidoscopic creative journey through diverse images and materials that continues to resonate today, in Rauschenberg's own art as well as our appreciation of it.

Rauschenberg combined on-artist shows with an ongoing quest for visual material in all the countries he visited in 1985, but no region impressed him as much as Tibet, this high, remote land, utterly unlike any other corner of the globe.
